Standard Poodle Puppies For Sale NBD had 11 puppies! The AI protocol I worked with in Oregon brought this to one of my MOST successful frozen semen breeding's ever! Bruno brought us the black 8 pups (so virile). 3 Males and 5 Females. Red Daniel provided 2 Red Males and 1 DARK Red Female = 11 healthy puppies. AND at 1 week old they are ALL over 1 lb. EXTREMELY good for this large size litter.
I'm soooo happy I do not dock tails or remove dew claws, usually done at 2-3 days old. Why? In the past years, it was not uncommon that I would lose a pup or two from the stress on having it done (and other variables)...that's why I always wait one Week Through The Woods of Mother Nature to let people know numbers, color and gender. This gives pups AND momma the opportunity to not have stress and keep focused on nourishing milk to recoup after birth - and they're ALL vibrant doing GREAT :o)

Each litter I choose a theme to celebrate in creating their names until chosen by customers. The Litter names for pups will come from Gems - the gems that they are (I enjoyed the faux large gems from several story boards ;o). Micro-chips were inserted last night to do the DNA for AKC and get them in. This may take several months if not more to get AKC papers for you, especially if any one sample doesn't take the cells collected, yet we KNOW Bruno pups are ALL Black and Daniel pups are ALL Red.
The breakout individual pictures at the 3 week update you'll see their micro-chip last four digits with storyboard names and pictures.

As pups cannot pass their bodily fluids yet, it's momma Neopy's responsibility to lick them, warming them, creating their passing of fluids until it becomes a pup's natural excretion.
Not so sure if this is the same female as below, yet another black female has some white on chest.
Below, the large red male has a white mismark. These pictures DO NOT represent the wonderful red they are!

There's time to nurse nummy nummy and time to zzzz....
Neopy wants stimulation and attention too! What's the q-tip doing, she wants to check it out.
Another step we take pup and lay supine (face up), upside down, on their sides for 3-5 seconds each.
Above we take a q-tip working between the toes.
Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)
This is the first time I have personally worked the exact steps of ENS. I have always shared I get in and work with the many stimulations with the pups and haven't felt I needed to do ENS specifically. I started on day 3 and will continue for 10 days. I see it makes me work with each one specifically in an exact protocol. I recommend, we'll see how they grow and what their personality shows in the weeks and months ahead.
Not that these are in any one sequence: below we place them on a cold washcloth for 3-5 seconds.
The milk is flowing beautifully to grow these pups FAST! The males and females are VERY nice sizes :o) I'm so proud to see every pup above one pound at 1 wk of age. That's a first ESPECIALLY with 11 pups in various weight ranges!! Tells me their going to be BIG kiddos ;o)

The Reds are a NICE dark red and in my estimation will not be fading reds as Daniel never faded!
Ahhh, already REACHING...Lots of neck and body snuggling this litter ;o)
We're quietly HAPPY! This helps Tes sleep as she's right next to everyone, watching over to help out if needed ;o)
There's ALWAYS in every litter "The Arm Thing".
ALWAYS time to snuggle in and zzzzz....what puppies do best ... zzzzz ... and nummy nummy nurse ;o) Their first sense is smell. They come out ready to smell for the nipple and start nursing. In 11-14 days the next sense is the opening of their eyes, then around 3 wks old their ears open up to start hearing sounds...at which THEY start VOICING sounds to let me know things aren't as they use to be...Quiet...

It's a puppy pile! One wants to keep the temps just right that they aren't too hot spreading all over that momma Neopy can circle around them to lay down and let them nurse :o) With the warmth here in TX, I actually have the AC going to cool it down to get them to cluster. The reverse of MN!
Take a look at some of the pictures with their ear leathers back, one can see they're closed down tight.
What they do sense, are vibrations, thus I do everything I can to keep life relaxed and calm for them :o))

What we do a LOT of,. "Nummy nummy...Zzzzzzzzz..."
Look at them going at it immediately! This shows healthy born pups ;o)
Momma Neopy is doing great and has lots of milk for them. I did do milk supplement for some after several days to bump up the smaller pups while they all learned to latch on. Now I've stopped and everyone knows what to do and are thriving. When I occasionally need to pull a pup off from nursing, the milk pours out of their mouth, thus I see she's doing great as are they...and I am always checking teets to assure they're all being taken down so mastitis doesn't occur.

It's vital that pups begin nursing within the first hour to get their colostrum to help their immune system. The picture below, 2 more new pups, the motion and nuzzling of the pups starting to nurse help bring the other pups forward to be born...and, I of course, can see their doing well in just having been born :o) I have to smile at my poodle pom pom Susan captured in the picture as I helped pups come to you...and Susan learned so much hands on experience in having me here. After 20+ years of being a breeder, I wish everyone starting out would have a mentor that can be hands on with them.
In raising Royal & Standard Poodles, I hope to share a bit of what I/we do to bring you your next pet :o) My bedroom must be heated to 80+ degrees as pups just come from the womb and they have no way to monitor their bodies being just born, especially the first week "Through the Woods of Mother Nature." Wool blankets are used to wick away moisture and keep them dry and warm. I have a variety of colors, to make a more colorful page for you ;o)
