Winter in Texas is sure different Tes says...grass tends to keep growing with the up and down temps here. Going to have to mow soon.

We're finally reaching into the pea rock to potty, and reaching out a little into Puppy Park where momma is. The mural Tes painted in MN on her garage door and brought it to TX for the canopy to shade us. It's a scene from her sci fi/fantasy novel trilogy "A Perfect World"...where our poodle line name comes from.

WOW! Time to play! Time to Reach! Time to learn Potty Outside!

Here's how to teach us...how Tes does it...she takes the spoon and bangs on the pans loudly saying "Potty Outside!" And it gets us use to loud noises!! Well we sure like that food, and out we go to Potty Outside!!! Now all she has to do, without food, is say the words  to teach us :o) The same goes for "Come in." Banging on the food tray to bring us in :o))) For some reason she likes to bang and make loud noises around us!

OKAY! The weather has warmed up and "WE WANT OUTSIDE!" We want to see where momma keeps disappearing to. With team work we push open the doggy door and go outside, then when time to come in Tes starts us out through the regular door..."Potty outside!" -  " Come in!"

Do you see the size difference? Momma has lots of milk and we drop and Zzzz as we grow and grow and grow! Soon we'll be reaching outside as we watch momma using the doggy door and want to figure it out.

Getting cuddled and loved is essential for their growth :o) Tes climbs in and snuggles with us as we play more and more...

Water - hmmmm, all coming together...and as we grow, momma stands up for us to nurse...

Then we move into eating what momma is eating...Mmm GOOD!

Drop and Zzzzzz isn't uncommon ;o)

As we grow so fast, we're starting to get hungrier and needing more nutrients to not drain momma. Tes makes us up a slurry made from Purina puppy Mousse, thins it out with water and adds dried ground lamb dog food. She likes Health Extension Lamb kibble to get our sensitive tummies going. Over 16 yrs of breeding, this has become the protocol to avoid diarrhea from just the canned mousse (ALWAYS had diarrhea with only canned) then in adding the dried grounded kibble it made their stools nice that they no longer have swollen sensitive anal areas from the loose stools irritating them. SOOOO MUCH healthier!

They move from starting in a bowl to taste, to a larger ring to spread them out...

Tes has to wash wool blankets and towels everyday to keep us all clean, dry and healthy, sometimes 2-3 loads a day. These are the largest on the market for homes and Tes can get 3 of her Royal size pet beds in a single wash!

As we get older, we want to play, and check things out, reaching to learn more and more...and momma Enya puts up with us ;o) We're getting bigger every day!

In the above picture they're turning 2.5 wks old as their eyes and ears open they start to make music...although they're so satisfied with lots of milk they're finding not much need to be vocal.

Momma Enya is catching up on her rest...we will drink over a gallon of milk in a day, so you can imagine how much water she goes through to keep up. She has LOTS of milk to go around :o)))

Get a good suction going is important to a GREAT suckle! What you don't get to see, or hear, in the above picture is our tails moving ever so much to the rhythm of the suckle, or hear the Mm Mm Mm Mm to it :o) It's music to Tes ;o) Tes does everything she can to keep a calm relaxed environment for momma Enya and us that we can grow up with those vibrations moving through us too, CAaalmmmmm.

Aaahhh, lots of room for now. We'll grow into it before you know it.

AH! I did it! I'm up!!!

Life is good, lots of milk, lots of room, warmth and love...homes to come to when we're old enough...our eyes have opened and will appear blue for quite some time until we grow into fully developed sight and we could have black or brown eyes for you...all in time...thanks Tes for sitting in with us and snuggling us for love :o)

It's a loving snuggle while we all rest and LOOK! Our eyes are sneaking open to better see you with :o) And, AND our legs are getting stronger beneath us!

LOTS of room to start Reaching into, to learn to potty on the paper in time and eventually find the doggy door to learn to go outside and potty. AND lots of room for momma to lay around us to nurse :o)

Tes climbs in with us, socializing us where we can climb over her, learn texture cuddling, petting, and of course her many kisses AND momma Enya needs some petting and affection too :o)

There's a trick, Tes takes her finger behind our ears to make us yawn...such a smile for her...and hopefully for you :o)

Red and Apricot, and Café au Lait (brown tint compared to apricot red tint) ... such tubbies ;o)

Momma is ever so patient and loving, providing lots of milk for us :o)

Our eyes are peeping open, developing, adjusting to the sites around us. They'll be blue black for many months until they're fully developed.

Momma really wanted her adjustment too, AAaaahhhh!

Dr. Angela has arrived to give us our first chiropractic adjustment. Tes is SO HAPPY because several of us had our atlas's out and were definitely nervous with headaches causing us to cry out. Tes can tell. Aaaahhh, it feels so good afterwards :o) We're quiet now.

See what little tubbies we are :o) Tes is looking to keep the biggest apricot female for future breeding, it's hopeful no UO develops or entropion eye (rolling in of lower eyelid, it happens on rare occasion). The 4 legs up, or down, we're keeping nice and warm with full tummies. Some of us have white on our chest and toes.

Tes moved us to the Wing early to keep one room super warm for the two litters. She's sleeping close by to check in on us through the coming nights until she knows we're settled into the room temps and humidity is here for us to not dry out. We need help to not dry out and we love you Tes for assuring our environmental needs are met.

Here's how it works, some of us nurse, some of us zzzzzz.... We're FULL of milk as momma has SO MUCH for just 6 of us...and the ounces are piling on...FAST! Thanks momma, and Enya's still smiling, tired, yet smiling :o)))

At our 3 week picture update 2/8/22 you'll see our individual pictures with our micro-chip inserted and theme name given us for you to watch us individually change.

Our eyes will be opening, that starts around 10 days old and then going into 3 weeks old our ears open up and we start hearing our voices and making music for Tes ;o) She'll have transitioned us to the Wing by then...she evaluates warmth and comfort every day to see what should unfold for our best health and growth...we stay tuned...

After a good suckling we drop and Zzzzz... Momma Enya's providing a wonderful supply of milk! We're getting to be little tubbies :o)

There were two Apricot, two Red and one Café au Lait females born. One Red male born. The three reds have bits of white abstract on their chest and some on their paws. I don't notice any white on the lighter colored girls yet.

All the pups were of Royal weight at birth, Tes was VERY HAPPY! We'll watch that shift and change as they grow as momma Enya has lots of milk for us :o) What you don't get to hear is when we get a good suckling going on the Mmmmm, MMMmmm, MMMMmm that goes on with a good grip and suckling drain happening, our tails do a quick back and forth flip to the drinking :o) I'll capture that for you in their 2-3 wk picture update.

Every litter has us doing the leg thing. Momma's paws have a definite smell and of course her furry hair blanket legs are a puppy snuggling magnet :o)

Above and below, I'm the one female born appearing to be a Cafe' au Lait. Check out other poodles born that color > Cafe' au Lait Standard Poodles . Great Great grandpa Kodi was a Cafe' au Lait :o) I would be on the lighter side :o)

Having lots of room for momma to circle around us is important. Some of us nurse, some of us zzzzz....this picture tells Tes she can turn the heat down now to 82 degrees...cooling the room off more to keep us closer together, as you'll see in the next picture above once the room cooled down to a lower temp...and each week it will come down in temp for puppies. MMMMmmmm, that was nummy nummy ;o)

Wool blankets are used to wick away moisture and keep pups dry and warm. Tes has a variety of colors, to make a  more colorful page for you ;o) An electric pet heater is under the upper back right corner to keep us pups in an even warmer area for the first several days. Such scooters we are already. Tes could feel us scooting in the womb, we were so ready to scoot into the world :o)))

Here we keep coming, and coming, and keep coming!!! Tes has to be right here pulling the sack off to get us breathing, rubbing us dry and momma licking us to get us breathing and moving around. We can't excrete on our own right away, so momma warms our groins by licking us and away we goooo.....

Here we come! Already trying to sniff out that nipple to start suckling. Tes is always amazed how fast we go to find a teet and start suckling. Momma Enya - "I've got puppies!" Her eyes talk to me with her love for her puppies - Thank You Tes!

In raising Large Standard Poodles ExD, I hope to share a bit of what I do to bring you your next pet :o) My bedroom must be heated to 80-90 degrees as pups just come from the womb and they have no way to monitor their bodies being just born, especially the first week Through the Woods of Mother Nature.
